Wild-Eyed & Wandering
Before I moved abroad in 2015, I set up a blog. I was sure I would want to collect my memories somehow, and I thought a blog would be a perfect way to do so. While I was never terribly consistent, I did my best to share my adventures in living abroad, learning new languages, and generally coping with the dramatic shift my life took once I boarded the flight.
A Day in My Life Abroad
A story about my (mis)adventures with bicycles, and the steep re-learning curve as I attempted to cycle around Beijing.
A Lesson in Languages
My attempt to teach a mini-lesson about a Turkish grammar point.
A Tale from Southeast Asia Travels
My husband and I have no shortage of silly moments during our travels. This tale takes us through a series of mishaps in Cambodia.
Advice for Overseas Transportation
During one of my many trips to Vietnam, I learned a thing or two about the sleeper buses there.
A Lesson from a Novice ESL Teacher
While I was new to teaching in 2015, I learned a lot during my five years in the classroom. This was one of my innovations.
A Purely Comedic Tale
Shortly after moving to Beijing, I accidentally ended up in a cycling class. Oops.
Zhen de Gender
My good friend had her own blog - a site dedicated to exploring “culture, gender, and sexuality in contemporary Asia”. She asked if I would contribute a blog to her site, which I happily did!
“Embracing Labels: Small Steps Toward a Big Goal”
Reflecting on my acceptance of the "feminist” label and what it means to me.
