At first, my connection with Strange Inc. was as a volunteer. However, their team later reached out to me to inquire about whether I did book formatting. I said I did, having done publication design for years before moving abroad. And so our journey together began, laying out the many drafts of “The Woke Writer”. We also discussed my creating the book cover. They presented me with an initial idea, and I created a version I thought captured the style and meaning the author had hoped for. The book has been released as a special edition hard cover, a paperback, and an eBook.
I have also collaborated with the team at Strange, Inc., on the design of a children’s book! I helped adapt existing artwork, adding illustrated elements and borders. I then formatted the interior, created the endpage illustrations, and designed the cover based on the interior artwork. The book is currently available for sale.
Book Formatting | Phunics - Fun Phonics
For years, I designed the eBooks for the Phunics - Fun Phonics program library. However, we also decided that printed versions would be great to have available for purchase as well. So I adapted our eBook style to a print collection, which we launched on Amazon.

Book Formatting & Cover Design | “A” Literary Journal
While attending Colorado State University as an English literature major, I joined the team for the department’s literary journal. They appointed me the editor of the journal, and I worked with an incredible team to create that year’s edition. Their efforts were dedicated to selecting and editing submissions, while mine was to oversee the process and ultimately design the book itself. While it was a simplistic design, it was one of my first experiences as a book formatter.
